Acceptance

By creating an account, downloading or using Stoii.co, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Stoii.co for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

The service

Stoii.co is a journaling and reflection service inspired by Stoic practice. It includes private journaling, optional sharing, daily check-ins, community features, insights, and optional AI-assisted tools. Some features may be free and others may require a paid Porch subscription.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum digital-consent age where you live, to use Stoii.co without a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your credentials and device, and activity through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Moments and visibility

A “Moment” is an entry you create. You choose one of three visibility levels:

Changing a Private Moment to Circle or Community uploads its content. Changing a shared Moment to Private downloads the content to the device before Stoii.co removes its server copy. Related replies and reactions may be hidden rather than immediately deleted so they can reappear if you republish the Moment. Stoii.co does not create a backup of device-only Private Moment content. For server-hosted Circle and Community content, we may retain limited logs, backups, or records where reasonably necessary for security, dispute handling, legal compliance, or system integrity.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you create. You give Stoii.co a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, reproduce, transmit, and display content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve the service according to the visibility you select. For Circle and Community Moments, that licence includes making the content available to the chosen audience.

You must have the rights needed to upload your content. You are responsible for it and for the visibility setting you choose. Deleting content or narrowing its audience does not control copies previously made by other users. Feedback you voluntarily send us may be used without restriction or compensation, without identifying you publicly.

AI-assisted features

Guided reflections and intelligent dictation use third-party artificial-intelligence services, currently OpenAI. When you deliberately use one of these features, the content needed to fulfil the request may be transmitted to that provider. This can include selected Moment text, dictated audio, a transcript, language information, and the resulting output—even when the underlying Moment is Private. The app asks for consent before intelligent dictation and before sending the text of a device-only Moment for a guided reflection.

Stoii.co does not store intelligent-dictation audio or transcript text in its database; it keeps consent, request status, and aggregate usage information. A guided reflection you choose to keep may be stored with the Moment and is returned only to its author. Preview reflections are not saved unless you later choose to attach them. Third-party processing remains subject to the provider's terms and data controls. Learn more in OpenAI's API data-controls documentation.

AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate. Review it before relying on or sharing it. AI features are for reflection and writing assistance, not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

Subscriptions and purchases

If you purchase Porch or another paid offering, the price, billing period, trial terms, and renewal conditions shown at checkout form part of these Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date shown by the applicable app marketplace. You can manage or cancel through the Apple App Store or Google Play account used to subscribe. Except where law requires otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and does not create a partial-period refund.

Apple or Google processes the payment. Stoii.co uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, manage subscription status, and unlock entitlements. RevenueCat may receive an app user identifier, device information, purchase history, store receipt, or Google purchase token; Stoii.co does not receive your full payment-card details. RevenueCat's processing is described in its Privacy Policy. Marketplace payment, cancellation, and refund rules also apply and control where required by law or platform terms.

We may change future subscription pricing or benefits with the notice required by law and the marketplace. Losing or cancelling a subscription may remove access to paid features, but will not by itself transfer a Private Moment off your device.

Acceptable use

You may not use Stoii.co to:

• break the law, violate another person's rights, or impersonate someone;
• harass, threaten, exploit, deceive, or expose another person's private information;
• post unlawful, hateful, sexually exploitative, or seriously harmful content;
• upload malware, interfere with security, scrape the service, or bypass access controls;
• reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
• abuse AI, community, reporting, subscription, or support systems.

We may remove shared content, limit distribution, or suspend accounts where reasonably necessary to enforce these rules, protect people, comply with law, or preserve the service. We do not undertake to monitor every Community or Circle Moment.

Wellbeing and safety

Stoii.co is a journaling tool, not a healthcare provider, crisis service, therapist, or substitute for professional care. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you may harm yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service immediately.

Availability and changes

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features, introduce reasonable limits, or perform maintenance. We aim for a dependable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that local data will survive device loss, damage, deletion, storage clearing, operating-system action, or an uninstall. Private Moment content has no Stoii.co backup or recovery path. You are solely responsible for protecting your device and retaining any content you cannot afford to lose.

Termination

You may stop using Stoii.co at any time and may request account deletion through available account controls or by contacting us. Deleting the app may erase device-only Private Moments before we can assist, because we do not hold their content. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated breaches, legal requirements, security risks, or harm to others. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions—will survive.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stoii.co is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. We are not responsible for user content, AI output, third-party services, or actions people take after viewing shared content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stoii.co and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, goodwill, profits, or opportunity. Our total liability relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Stoii.co in the 12 months before the claim or €50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

General terms

App-store or marketplace terms also apply to your download and purchase. These Terms do not create employment, agency, partnership, or third-party beneficiary rights, except where an app marketplace requires otherwise. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. A delay in enforcement is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, reorganisation, financing, or sale of the service.

The laws applicable where the Stoii.co operator is established govern these Terms, without taking away mandatory protections or courts available to you under the law where you live. We may revise these Terms and will give reasonable notice of material changes. Continuing to use the service after the revised terms take effect means you accept them, where permitted by law.
